Heavy perfume of the cedar grove courses through
Wisteria
Dog wood
Red Bud
Displayed under canopy’s shade
Spruce
Swamp Maple
Magnolia
Share the soft, sandy ground
Standing proud
Hurricane whipped, broken and bent
And the forest floor swallows the clutter
As new growth climbs skyward

Di you like my green poem?
You transported me back to the Blue Ridge Mountains,
what's not to like!
Reply:That's what a hurricane does, alright....makes room for new growth and smells.....you were down there in the peak time of Spring for all those flowering bursts from everything!!!
Reply:It's a metaphor for life.
Reply:Sounds like you are standing in the shade in back of Jefferson Davis' home on highway 90 in Gulfport.
Reply:Amazing!
Reply:Swallows the clutter, another term perhaps for urbanization?
Your words were well placed and brought the senses the smells of a verdant forest in spring.
Reply:it makes you think about the world. it's mesmerizing
Reply:Yes lovely. The trees are unfamiliar to me being from a different land.
Reminds me of herbal tea and aromatherapy.
The beauty of nature in pure elemental form."And the forest floor swallows the clutter". The swallows are bird life as well as the swallowing of the clutter of natural forest logs and small plants, bracken etc..
