Do houses in America actually look like the ones on Wisteria Lane? Where are these amazingly gorgeous houses?

Well I live in Southern California... it's not entirely inaccurate! *smiles*

Reply:On DH, the houses have to be big so that they are suitable for filming, you couldn't film a scene in my bedroom, far too small. In real life, houses of that size are not so common.
Reply:wisteria lane is in the backlot of universal studios if you look at them hard enough you will reconize them from other tv shows-the munsters,leave it to beaver,my three sons,best little whorehouse in texas,the movie with jimmy stewart about an imaginery rabbit that was 6 ft tall and many more

Reply:Yes, some houses in America look like that; my sister lives in one of those neighborhoods. Most houses, though, are much more modest.

Reply:I lived in a neighborhood in Edmond Oklahoma that resembled Wisteria Lane, in more ways than one! ha there was always something going on in that place. That was back in the early 80's.

Reply:good question!!!! i wondered that... i also wondered why those houses look so enormous and yet dont seem o have many bedrooms?! like bree doesnt even have a spare room - how can that monster only have 3 bedrooms?!!!!!

if i was going to spend a couple humdred thousand dollars i would buy 5 acres %26amp; build a small house in the center of it, leaving as many trees as i could.
