Is there a way to make homemade rooting solution?
Home Depot sells a rooting hormone relatively cheap. Just sprinkle the powder on the cutting and plant into perlite until roots form. I've heard you can also place cuttings into a potatoe and plant.
Reply:There is a product called Rootone you can find at nursery departments that can do that for you.
Reply:Willow branches soaked in water create a good rooting solution.
Reply:My ex father-in-law told me to wrap a banana peel around the bottom then plant it. I have not tried this, so I don't know if it works. Some ivies u can put in a clear glass or vase of water and set it in a sunny window. They root on their own.
Reply:Make willow water. Place willow tree cuttings in a bucket of water let them set for a few days or weeks, or longer. Water the cuttings with this water. It contains the hormones that cuttings need, and it really works. further info. look up "willow water".
Reply:i heard once that saliva can be used as a rooting hormone
