What is the best plant to use on a pergola?

my daughter has just had a pergola built over the steps on a new deck, she doesn't like bees, wasps, pretty much anything that flies, can you please help me find something quick growing, beautiful, I chose wisteria, but I am open to your help. I love gardening, she does when its easy. thank you.

What is the best plant to use on a pergola?
To avoid flying insects, avoid flowers. That limits your choice to very little. Hybrid Clematis are beautiful, and their flowers are not highly attractive to insects. Wisteria is possible, not as easy to cultivate as many imagine. In a WARM SHELTERED spot Trachelospermum jasminoides, is fragrant to die for ! AVOID Russian Vine ( Polygonum, commonly called `mile-a-minute vine`) it is rampant beyond belief, a true problem plant. There is no "quick" in gardening.
Reply:I like grapevines personally.... just for the foliage
Reply:It really depends on your zone, but for my zone (7) I like Carolina Jessamine (Double Shot). It is an evergreen vigorously growing vine that exhibits yellow flowers in spring and fall. To the best of my knowledge I don't beleive it attracts bees. It will grow to about 25 or 30 feet long in any direction you train it.
Reply:It pays to visit your local nursery with good advice on how to choose the right plant vines for your planting zone.
