I sluffed off and didn't prune our wisteria that we have in a pergola next to the house. Now there are vines all over the place and it just doesn't look good at all. You can really tell that I didn't take care of it.
It is starting to bloom and I was wondering if it's ok to do some selective cutting to tame down and train branches where I want them.
It always blooms twice a year so I don't want to mess it up and not have any.
I really, really want to just go at it and make it pretty.
Pruning wisteria....now..?
you can do some pruning but it's best to wait til after it blooms
Reply:You won't harm the tree if you do some light pruning, but typically is tree is pruned fairly soon after if blooms.
