I have a Blue Kentucky Wisteria. It is in the correct soil and in a large pot, I water it every day and it is in an ideal spot away from draughts, direct sun and has dappled shade.
Yet it is losing it's leaves. Why is this?
The stems still looks very healthy, turgid and thick. Is this a deciduous plant?
I have had many wisterias, but none have ever made it to Autumn/winter because my previous dog used to eat them for some reason. Now this plant has reached Autumn here in Australia, I'd just like to know if shedding all leaves in Autumn is normal for a Blue Kentucky Wisteria.
Many thanks for your help.
Wisteria Question?
It's a deciduous plant.
I'm in the southeastern US. We have wisteria growing wild all over the place around here and they've just gotten through their peak blooming period (and it's Spring). The rest of their year, they're just leafy vines and in the winter, they're brown.
Reply:It is normal for the wisteria to shed leaves in the fall. That paticula wisteria will get very large as time goes on and I have found nothing that kills it out.
Reply:Im in Australia too and mine sheds its leaves also, dont worry it will come back
Reply:they do shed their leaves and will come back if you don't over water--
