the two wisterias are nearly 50 years old

What is the best time to trim a wisteria?
Honestly wisteria is such a wild and evasive plant, you could probably cut it to the ground and never even hurt it.


its hard to even kill with chemicals.

Reply:before spring to alloww new growth to be stimulated.winter is good because the branches are dormant and wont be bothered as much by pruning.


Lots of plants are rejuvenated after pruning just dont doit during the growing season (spring thru mid summer)
